Welcome to the Learning & Development Network International (LDNI)
Please find below requirements and criteria to join the Network.
There are 4 membership levels
1. Learning & Development Graduate (LDG)
2. Learning & Development Associate (LDA)
3. Learning & Development Professional (LDP)
4. Learning & Development Specialist (LDS)
Learning & Development Graduate (LDG)
- Students in final year of study.
- Youth Corp Members with a degree from a reputable university.
- Anyone with a minimum zero(0) -one (1) year experience in any area.
- Demonstrable experience and competence in at least one (1) of the core areas of Building Personal Capability:
Building Personal Capability- Communication
- Emotional Intelligence and Decision-Making
- Collaboration and Leadership
- Cultural Awareness and Inclusion
- Project Management
- Compliance and Ethical Behavior
- Lifelong Learning
Applicants who meet the above criteria (following assessment by the LDNI and the approval of the
Executives) would be required to attend the On-boarding training.
Learning & Development Associate (LDA)
- Have a minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) / Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
- Minimum of One (1) year post graduation experience (Not inclusive of the one (1) year mandatory NYSC service), One (1)-Two (2) of which must be in Talent Development, Facilitation or Training Administration practice of adults at any level in a structured and recognized organization.
- Currently employed / self-employed and occupying a position not less than officer or its equivalent in the private sector or Grade Level 7 or its equivalent in the public sector.
- Demonstrable intermediate experience and competence in at least two (2) each of the following core
areas of Building Personal Capability & Developing Professional Capability:
Building Personal Capability
- Communication.
- Emotional Intelligence and Decision-Making.
- Collaboration and Leadership.
- Cultural Awareness and Inclusion.
- Project Management.
- Compliance and Ethical Behavior.
- Lifelong Learning
Developing Professional Capability
- Learning Sciences.
- Instructional Design.
- Training Delivery and Facilitation.
- Technology Application.
- Knowledge Management.
- Career and Leadership.
- Development.
- Coaching.
- Evaluating Impact.
- Record of attendance at Three (3) relevant talent development courses/programs in the last seven (7) years to ensure that the applicants appreciate the need for continuing professional development.
Applicants who meet the above criteria (following assessment by the LDNI and the approval of the Executive council) would be required to attend the On boarding training.
Successful applicants shall then be inducted as an Associate Member of the LDNI eligible to use the acronym LDA at the end of his or her name.
Learning & Development Professional (LDP)
- Have a minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) / Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
- Minimum of Eight (8) years post-graduation experience (Not inclusive of the one (1) year mandatory NYSC service), Minimum of Seven (7) of which must be in Talent Development, Facilitation or Training Administration practice of adults at any advisory or management level in a structured and recognized organization.
- Currently employed / self-employed and occupying a position not less than supervisor/manager or its equivalent in the private sector or Grade Level 10 or its equivalent in the public sector.
- Demonstrable Intermediate experience and competence in at least three (3) each of the following core
areas of Building Personal Capability, Developing Professional Capability & Impacting Organizational

- Record of attendance at Five (5) relevant talent development courses/programme in the last seven (7) years to ensure that the applicants appreciate the need for continuing professional development.
Applicants who meet the above criteria (following assessment by the LDNI and the approval of the Executives) would be required to attend the On-boarding training.
Successful applicants shall then be inducted as a Professional Member of the LDNI and eligible to use the acronym LDP at the end of his/her name.
Learning & Development Specialist (LDS)
- Have a minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) / Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
- Minimum of Thirteen (13) years post-graduation experience (Not inclusive of the one (1) year mandatory NYSC service), Minimum of Twelve (12) of which must be in Talent Development, Facilitation or Training Administration practice of adults at a Senior management/executive/ advisory level in a structured and recognized organization.
- Currently employed / self-employed and occupying a position not less than Senior management/ Senior Consultant/Managing Director or its equivalent in the private sector or Grade Level 15 or its equivalent in the public sector.
- Demonstrable expert experience and competence in at least Five (5) each of the following core areas
of Building Personal Capability, Developing Professional Capability & Impacting Organizational

- Record and evidence of successful completion of strategic tasks & projects in the management/development of Talent, Facilitation or Training Administration practice of adults with ability to clearly communicate these achievements.
